What is endodontics?

What is a root canal?

A root canal is a procedure used to remove infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, clean and disinfect the root canals, and seal the space to prevent future infection. It helps relieve pain, save the natural tooth, and avoid the need for extraction.

What is root canal retreatment?

A root canal retreatment is performed when a previously root canal treated tooth develops new infection, persistent symptoms, or healing problems. The old root filling material is removed, the canals are cleaned and disinfected again, and the tooth is resealed to give it the opportunity to heal and be saved.

What is endodontic microsurgery?

Endodontic microsurgery is a procedure used to treat infection or inflammation at the tip of a tooth’s root when a standard root canal or retreatment is not feasible. Using high magnification and precise instruments, the infected tissue is removed, the root tip is sealed, and the natural tooth is preserved.

How is dental trauma managed?

Dental trauma is often an acutely time sensitive matter. We often have less predictable outcomes if treatment is delayed. If you have an injury to a tooth, please call ASAP and we will advise you from there.
